Sypnosis:

In the Inchidian Universe, the League rules all.  Expertly trained and highly valued, the League Assassins are the backbone of the government.  But not even the League is immune to corruption...

Command Assassin Nykyrian Quiakides once turned his back on the League-and has been hunted by them ever since.  Though many have tried, none can kill him or stop him from completing his current mission: to protect Kiara Zamir, a woman whose father's political alliance has made her a target.

She must accept his protection or die.

As her world becomes even deadlier, Kiara must entrust her life to the same kind of beast who killed her mother and left her for dead.  Old enemies and new endanger them both and the only way they can survive is to overcome them suspicions and learn to trust in the very ones that threaten them the most: each other.

My thoughts:

I thought that this was a great book to start a series with.  Quite sad though.  I felt bad for Nykyrian growing up.  Also for Kiara for watching her mother die.

I'm happy that they found their happy ending though.  Nykyrian's brother, Jullien, got what he deserved.  So did Nykyrian's adopted brothers. 
This book would be good for you if you are a fan of reading books about assassins and abused people.
